It’s no secret: Google is the search engine giant. They process over 100 billion searches every month and have over a 65% share of worldwide search volume.
When they roll out important updates, or make a statement about the factors that influence rankings, it’s important to listen. And in many cases, it’s even more important to ACT.
On April 21st, a big UPDATE will be rolling out that will affect you.
Here was Google’s announcement:
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.”
When people search the internet using their smartphones or tablets, Google is going to give the biggest preference to sites that are optimized to show up on these devices.
The number of people using their mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) to access and search the internet is growing. Mobile makes up 25% of all web usage, nearly double what it was last year!
Why this matters to you:
If you care about growing your business, beating the competition, generating leads, and reaching more prospects through a robust online presence, then you need to adapt to these changes.
Every day, a larger piece of your market uses mobile devices to access the internet. After this update rolls out, the number of options Google serves, as a result of mobile searches, is going to favor websites that are optimized for mobile.
